The authors

BAZIN PhilippeBAZIN Philippe

Born in 1954, Philippe Bazin studied medicine but turned himself towards photography as soon as 1986, in order to question one's condition regarding the generalized institutionalization of existence. The medical world took an important part in this phenomenon, since people are born and die in hospitals. Since the year 2000 his works explore different sites and places where his questions find a material figure. This is what has been done in the Antichambres, realized in 2008 in Poland in 18 retention centres for asylum seekers.
