JACQUEMOND Richard

Professor of Arabic and  Arab literature at Provence University and translator of novels and essays by contemporary Egyptian authors (Sonallah Ibrahim among others), he lived for fifteen years in Cairo where he directed the department of translation of the French cultural mission. Richard Jacquemond holds a PhD in modern Egyptian literarure (Entre scribes et écrivains, Le champ littéraire dans l'Egypte contemporaine, Arles, Actes Sud-Sindbad, 2003).
