The studies

Whilst the majority of studies or research on translation tend to bear exclusively on the description and analysis of markets, the mapping of translation in the Euro-Mediterranean region takes into account the whole chain of translation: authors, translators, publishers, bookshops, libraries, programmes of support for translation, the media and can, in that respect, constitute a model.
The studies cover literary translation in the broadest sense, as they include translation of the human and social sciences, theatre and youth literature.
They take into account translation in all directions: not only from the north to the south, but also from the south to the north, from the east to the west, from the west to the east, underlining the necessity of renewing the imaginary geographies that preside over cultural exchange. They include a necessary quantitative evaluation though being an ensemble of qualitative analyses as well.
