The Declarations

Before conceiving together the project of a "caravan" across the borders, the women activists had come together on the political values that had emerged from the conferences of Royaumont (December 1999) and Mavrovo (April 2000).

The Royaumont Declaration

The Mavrovo Declaration

Following the conference organised by Transeuropéennes in the Royaumont foundation in December 1999 entitled : “Women activists in conflicts : a democratic perspective for the Balkans", activists from all countries of  the former Yugoslavia and Albania have met again, at the initiative of Transeuropéennes and the Open Society Institute Macedonia with the support of the Council of Europe and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Mavrovo, Macedonia from 27th April to 1st may 2000.
This second meeting, discussing "how to face community pressure ?". has resulted in the will to take joint action and to reinforce the solidarity network that was already initiated in Royaumont. The following text, adopted at the end of the meeting, constitutes a platform for a common commitment.
